KHORAKERT MONASTERY

Khorakert Monastery is one of the most unique and interesting examples of Armenian medieval architecture. The monastery was built in the 12th-13th centuries. The main church is the St. Astvatsatsin. Khorakert is at the foot of Mount Lalvar, in a forest, near the Armenian-Georgian border, currently in the territory of Georgia. It is possible to reach the monastery only from Georgia (it is close to Chanakhchi village, Marneuli region), but it is not possible to enter the territory of Khorakert without a special permit.

Hamshen Tour is able to get permits and organize tours to the Khorakert Monastery.
