BNIDZOR MONASTERY AND SHULAVERI (HIKING)
The Great Monastery of Bnidzor is one of the most wonderful, unique and impressive examples of Armenian church architecture, and the location of the monastery in the heart of forests is simply fantastic. Located near the Armenian populated village of Shulaver/Shahumyan (Marneuli region of Georgia), the monastery is inside powerful fortress walls. There are khachkars near the church with a distinctive dome, which we will also discover. The narrow path leading to Bnidzor also passes through forests. In addition, we will also visit the very colorful Shahumyan village, which will make our visit more interesting. The departure and return will be through the Armenian-Georgian border checkpoint, it is mandatory to have a passport.
Hike distance is 12 km (round trip). You must have hiking shoes and hiking clothes.
