KKVI BUIN FORTRESS, BENDIK, SHAMLUGH (HIKING)

This time we will visit the rich historical heritage, breathtaking nature of Lori province of Armenia. The towering fortress named Kkvi Buyn (The Nest of Cuckoo), the mountains and forests surrounding Akhtala Monastery, provides fantastic views to its visitors. We will start our hike to the fortress from Shamlugh village, then we will pass through the colorful village of Bendik, where the very mysterious church and the houses with unique architecture are waiting for us, after which we will reach Kkvi Buin Fortress, from where a wonderful view of Debet Gorge and Akhtala Monastery opens. After enjoying all this, we will return to Bendik and then to Shamlugh.

Hike distance is 15 km (round trip). You must have hiking shoes and hiking clothes.
