URTS AND TAP FORTRESSES (HIKING)

On this wonderful tour, we will have the opportunity to see the impressive examples of medieval fortress-building heritage, the Tap and Urts fortresses, as well as the Urts settlement with its unique ancient churches and khachkars (cross stones). From the Urts settlement in the Ararat region, we will climb the rocky hill on which the mighty Urts fortress is located with its stunning views. After fully enjoying Urts Fortress, we will walk to Tap Fortress, which is not far away. This well-preserved medieval fortress is on the slope of Kotuts mountain, also known as Gevorg Marzpetuni Fortress. This trip is part of Hamshen Tour's special project "Armenian Fortresses and Castles".

Hike distance is 8 km (round trip). You must have hiking shoes and hiking clothes.
