MT ILKASAT AND ALSAR
A wonderful day awaits us in the embrace of relatively little-visited mountains not far from Yerevan, as we climb Ilkasar and Alsar. Our impressive hike will begin from the village of Narek in Ararat Province, we will climb the Ilkasar peak of the Yeranos mountain range, from the peak we will enjoy not only the magnificent view of Ararat, but also the historical fortress of Ilkasar, which is located at the top of the mountain. We will continue the hike and walk along a very beautiful trail to the highest peak of the Yerakh mountains - Alsar. From Alsar, a beautiful view opens up to Ararat, Aragats, Ara, Kotuts, Yeranos mountains.
The hike will be about 14 km in total, the relative altitude is about 1100 meters. Hiking gear and shoes are mandatory. The height of Ilkasar is 1462 m, the height of Alsar is 1853 m.
