DSEGH. AUTUMN IN LORI (HIKING)

This Sunday, we invite you to join us on a journey into the fairy-tale world of Lori, enjoy the vibrant colors of autumn, and discover the unique corners of Dsegh, the birthplace of Hovhannes Tumanyan. An unforgettable hiking day awaits us, filled with warm memories, beautiful landscapes, and vivid impressions.

Our journey will begin in the village of Dsegh, from where we will descend into the magnificent Debed Gorge to visit one of the architectural gems of Armenia — the Karasnits Mankants (Forty Martyrs) Monastery. Admiring the impressive rock formations of Debed Gorge and the colorful autumn forests, we will continue our hike towards the Bardzrakash St. Gregory Monastery, hidden in the Marts Gorge.

Along the way, we will also discover the famous "Sirun Khach" ("Beautiful Cross") khachkar, which received its remarkable name from the locals thanks to its exceptionally delicate and intricate carvings.

During the day, we will also admire the real-life panorama depicted in Martiros Saryan's famous painting "The Collective Farm of Karinջ Village in the Tumanyan Mountains" (1952), which adorned the former 5,000 Armenian dram banknotes for many years.

We will conclude our eventful and memorable day on the peaceful, fairy-tale shores of Dsegh's Tsover Lake, relaxing and enjoying the warm tranquility of autumn nature.

The total hiking distance is 12 km, with an elevation difference of 500 meters.
