MT JILO/CILO. CLIMBING 2025
Among the most beautiful corners of the Armenian Highlands, the highest peak of the Kordvats Mountains, mount JILO, awaits us. The mountain, which has been completely closed for mountaineering for many years, has become accessible to us and will accept those who dream of reaching its summit. Jilo (Jogha) is one of the highest peaks of Armenian highlands, with a height of 4135 meters, it is on the border of present-day Turkey and Iraq, in Hakkar Province.
Mountain experience and full mountain gear are mandatory for the ascent of Jilo. Heavy items and camping equipment will be moved by animals. Tents are provided by Hamshen Tour.

On our way we will see Tsovakn Hyusiso Lake, we will also get close to the River Araks. We will cross the slopes of Mount Ararat and enjoy the view of the mountain from Bayazet. We will visit Berkri Waterfall, after which we will travel along the shores of Lake Van to the city of Van, and then to the city of Yuksekova at the foot of Jilo, where our hotel is located.

On the morning of the second day, having breakfast at the hotel, we will approach the foot of the mountain by car, from where we will start hiking to the tent camp, which has an extremely impressive location. On the third day, early in the morning, we will start the ascent to the top of the mountain, where we will fully enjoy it, then we will return to our camp, have a little rest, after which we will start to descend to the starting point, from where we will drive to our hotel for a well-earned rest.
The length of the hike from the starting point (about 1900 meters above sea level) to the camp is about 7 km, the relative altitude is about 1000 meters. The length of the hike from the camp to the summit is 5 km, the relative height is about 1200 meters. The height of the mountain is 4135 meters.

Even the return day promises to impress. We will have free time on the shores of Lake Van. Then we will move to Bayazet and Kars, where we will have lunch and return to Yerevan.
