ULGYUR MONASTERY AND AGARAKADZOR BRIDGE (HIKING)
During this tour we will discover the hidden treasures of Vayots Dzor, the St. Astvatsatsin Church of the Ulgur and the old cemetery, where the exceptional dragon stones (Vishapakars) that have become khachkar have been preserved. Ulgur is also the birthplace of Momik, one of the most famous architects of Armenian history. In addition to this wonder, we will have a hike from Yeghegnadzor to Agarakadzor Bridge, which is one of the masterpieces of Armenian architecture. This single-span bridge connects the two banks of the Arpa River and has survived to this day in excellent condition. The hike will start from Aghavnadzor Village to the old Ulgyur Village and church. Then we will go to Yeghegnadzor to walk to the historical bridge.
Hike distance is 11 km (round trip). You must have hiking shoes and hiking clothes.
