MANTHASHABERD, CHAPKUT, GMBET CAVE (HIKING)

Spectacular views, valuable historical monuments, and beautiful nature are characteristic of Tavush. And all this during one trip, which will allow you to discover not only one of the most powerful and impressive fortresses in Armenia, Mantashaberd (also known as Ashot Yerkat fortress), but also to walk through Tavush's forests, visiting the village of Chapkut with its church and the Dome (Gmbet) cave. We will start our trip from the bank of the Aghstev River, then upon reaching Mantashaberd, we will admire this powerful medieval fortress, as well as the fantastic views from the fortress, then we will continue our hike along beautiful paths to the village of Gandzakar, seeing other historical monuments on the way, including Chapkut and Gmbet cave. A wonderful day and unique feelings are guaranteed. This trip is part of Hamshen Tour's special project ‘Armenian Fortresses and Castles'.

Hike distance is 13 km (round trip). You must have hiking shoes and hiking clothes.
