Free time in Maku
Starting from Yerevan to Meghri, we will cross the Armenian-Iranian border on the Araks River but before it we will visit a very beautiful viewpoint to watch the Araks Rivers’ delta. The next stop of our wonderful trip will be the masterpiece of nature, Averak Jaghats waterfall. In Old Jolfa we will visit the Armenian Church of Hoviv and the old caravanserai of Khaje Nazar. It is time to visit not only Armenian, but also the masterpiece of world architecture, St. Stepanos Monastery. The Monastery of St. Stepanos is an impressively well-preserved monument that is also on the UNESCO World Heritage List. After this unique and fantastic place, our route will continue along the banks of River Araks to Maku, and on the way we will see Nakhichevan across the border. Dinner and overnight are in Maku.

Free time in Urmia
After enjoying the view of Biblical Ararat from the hills of Maku, we will visit Tsortsor Church, which is another Armenian church in Iran, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Our next stop, the Monastery of St. Thaddeus, is an important architectural monument. From St. Thaddeus Monastery to the town of Khoy and St. Sargis Church in Khoy, we will pass through the area that experts consider the Avarayr plain. After dinner in Khoy we will go to Salmas (Salmast), where we will see Payajuk village, where a great Armenian writer Raffi was born. Close to Salmast we will see the Sassanid Petroglyph, where Armenians and Armenia are mentioned.

Our first stop will be Kaputan (Lake Urmia), one of the three largest lakes in the Armenian Highland. After this historic moment, we will continue our way to Tabriz, where the road passes over the bridge built in the center of Lake Urmia. Near Tabriz we will visit Kandovan, which is the most interesting and ancient cave settlement, where people live even today. The next stop is the city of Tabriz, which is a true reflection of the East. Here we will visit the Armenian church and the historic market of Tabriz, one of the largest indoor markets in the world. The tour of Tabriz will not end like this, because the next morning we have a number of important monuments to see in this city.
