ЛИКИЙСКАЯ ТРОПА․ ЦЕНТРАЛЬНАЯ ЧАСТЬ
The Lycian Way, one of the world’s best-known long-distance hiking trails, is calling us with breathtaking views, unforgettable emotions and a truly unique travel experience.
Ancient roads bearing the traces of the Lycian civilization, the turquoise bays of the Mediterranean, mountain villages, forested and rocky trails, historic sites, delicious cuisine and authentic local accommodation will all come together during our exciting seven-day journey.
On this tour, we will hike one of the most beautiful routes in the central section of the Lycian Way, travelling from Kalkan to Demre. During five hiking days, we will cover more than 100 km while discovering both the extraordinary nature of the region and its rich history and cultural heritage.
The program also includes opportunities to swim in the Mediterranean Sea, a boat trip, visits to historical sites and time to relax in charming coastal villages. This is more than a hiking tour—it is a real adventure that may become one of the most memorable journeys of your life.
The program is intensive and is intended for participants with good physical fitness and previous experience of long-distance hiking.
DAY 1: YEREVAN – ISTANBUL – DALAMAN – KALKAN – BEZİRGAN
We will fly from Yerevan to Dalaman via Istanbul and then travel to Kalkan, a beautiful town on the Mediterranean coast.
After breakfast and a short rest in Kalkan, we will begin our first hike. Following a trail that gradually climbs from the coast, we will head towards the highland plateau of Bezirgan. From the very first day, we will enjoy beautiful Mediterranean views, mountain landscapes and the unique atmosphere of the Lycian Way.
Hiking distance: approximately 11 km.
Dinner and overnight stay in Bezirgan.
DAY 2: BEZİRGAN – SARIBELEN – GÖKÇEÖREN
After breakfast, we will continue from Bezirgan through Sarıbelen to Gökçeören.
Today’s route mainly follows highland and forest trails, passing through mountain villages, pine forests, open plateaus and unusual rock formations. Along the way, we will enjoy beautiful panoramas of the surrounding mountain ranges and occasional views of the Mediterranean Sea in the distance.
By the end of the day, we will reach the quiet and secluded village of Gökçeören.
Hiking distance: approximately 17 km.
Dinner and overnight stay in Gökçeören.
DAY 3: GÖKÇEÖREN – HACIOĞLAN – PHELLOS – KAŞ
After breakfast, we will begin the longest and most physically demanding hiking day of the tour.
From Gökçeören, the route will take us towards the Hacıoğlan area and then to the ruins of Phellos, one of the important settlements of ancient Lycia. At this high-altitude archaeological site, we will see Lycian tombs and the remains of ancient structures while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
From Phellos, we will begin a long descent towards Kaş, a beautiful town on the Mediterranean coast. We will finish this challenging but exceptionally rewarding day in the lively and charming atmosphere of Kaş.
Hiking distance: approximately 30 km.
Dinner and overnight stay in Kaş.
DAY 4: KAŞ – LİMANAĞZI – UFAKDERE – ÜZÜMLÜ – BOĞAZCIK
After breakfast, we will leave Kaş on foot and head towards Limanağzı. This is one of the most beautiful but also demanding sections of the central Lycian Way.
The trail follows the rocky Mediterranean coastline, offering spectacular views of turquoise bays, secluded beaches and offshore islands. We will pass through Limanağzı, Ufakdere and Üzümlü bays and encounter ancient cisterns and Lycian rock-cut tombs along the way.
At the end of the day, we will climb from the coast to the village of Boğazcık.
Hiking distance: approximately 21 km.
Dinner and overnight stay in Boğazcık.
DAY 5: BOĞAZCIK – APERLAI – ÜÇAĞIZ
After breakfast, we will leave Boğazcık and hike towards Aperlai, one of the notable cities of ancient Lycia.
We will follow a peaceful and relatively easy trail, gradually approaching the beautiful bays of Kekova. At Aperlai, we will see the remains of ancient city walls, buildings and tombs, as well as traces of structures that are now partially submerged.
We will then take a boat trip through the picturesque bays of Kekova, discovering the area’s natural beauty and underwater historical heritage. By boat, we will reach the fishing village of Üçağız.
Hiking distance: approximately 8 km.
Dinner and overnight stay in Üçağız.
DAY 6: ÜÇAĞIZ – KALEKÖY – KAPAKLI – ÇAYAĞZI – DEMRE
After breakfast, we will hike from Üçağız to Kaleköy, the site of ancient Simena. Here, the history of Lycia literally merges with the Mediterranean Sea: along the shore and beneath the water, we will see the remains of ancient buildings and tombs, while the fortress of Simena rises above the village.
From Kaleköy, we will continue towards Kapaklı and Çayağzı, following coastal trails through olive groves, small bays and historic ruins.
Upon reaching Çayağzı, we will transfer to Demre.
Hiking distance: approximately 17 km.
Dinner and overnight stay in Demre.
DAY 7: DEMRE – ANTALYA – ISTANBUL – YEREVAN
After breakfast, we will have free time in Demre. We can relax, explore the town and, weather permitting, swim in the Mediterranean Sea.
We will then travel to Antalya Airport and fly to Yerevan via Istanbul.
TOUR PRICE
The tour price is the equivalent of EUR 819 in Armenian drams.
The price includes:
